How to Keep your Online Account Secure
In this world of overwhelming internet penetration, an average user has approximately 7 to 8 online accounts. While some of the online accounts need not be kept too protected, there are some which require extra cover of safety. For instance, if you have a banking online account, you will want to keep your money safe. Here is how you can avoid your online accounts from getting compromised.
Your Password: Every online account has a password to protect it from unauthorized access. However, sometimes the passwords get stolen and online account gets breached. To avoid this, make sure that you create a pretty long and complicated password which is not easy for anyone to guess. It is recommended that your password does not include the name of your loved ones. Even if it does, it should be a combination of other complex numeric and alpha numeric patterns. If you are managing multiple online accounts, make sure that the password for each is unique and not the same. Just in case you are not able to memorize the password, then make sure that you keep the written copy of it somewhere safe where only you can access it.
Phishing: Do not get tricked by the malicious websites which pose as genuine. For instance, a website may create an exact replica of your bank website’s login page and ask you to enter your username and password. Always make it a point to read the URL address before you provide any login details. If the URL seems fishy, do not enter your personal details.
